Waterproof flooring isn't just for flood-prone areas

When it comes to waterproof flooring, many homeowners think it is simply a precaution for those who live in areas that are prone to flooding. While this is a great use of this particular product, it certainly isn’t the only one. In fact, more and more homeowners are beginning to understand just how important this floor covering can be in any home, not just ones that might take on flood damage.

Weaver’s Carpet & Tile can help you be ready for anything that might potentially affect your flooring. Not only can we help you find the perfect flooring, our other services can help keep it looking its very best. We service the areas of Lebanon, Ephrata, Womelsdorf, Bethel, Jonestown, Palmyra, and Manheim. We invite you to stop by our showroom, located in Lebanon, PA, at your convenience with any questions that you might have concerning your floors and to see our full line of floor coverings.

Waterproof or water resistant?

  1. Many homeowners wonder if water-resistant flooring is as beneficial as waterproof, and we have to say that it is not. While water-resistant flooring can withstand spills for up to twenty-four hours, and a great deal more humidity than many other floor coverings, it cannot take the same abuse as this product can.

When your floors are completely impervious to water of any kind, it gives you a peace of mind you simply can’t get with other floor coverings. This makes it an absolutely wonderful choice for rooms such as the basement, kitchen, laundry room and bathroom. Of course, with the variety in style and design, it’s just as at home in the living room, bedroom or office as well.

Consider, for a moment, a scenario in which you are away from home and happen to have a water emergency that you know nothing about. It could be a burst pipe, a washer that floods, a toilet bowl that overflows, or any one of an array of other situations. Depending upon the enormity of the situation, any other floor covering would be completely ravaged by the time you arrived home to find the mess.

This floor covering, however, will withstand the problem indefinitely. Unlike flooring that isn’t waterproof, this flooring won’t need to be replaced after such an emergency. You’ll be free to focus all your concern on the problem at hand, knowing your floors isn’t one of them.
